I would be tempted to if it were any other edition, but unfortunately I recall very little about 2e rules - It's the only edition whose core books I lack, and I haven't played it since 3e dropped.It's a bit slow of late. I could be wrong, but I feel like one of the few significant changes between 1 and 2e were specialty priests and how gods and their associated powers are presented.I suspect 1e knowledge would be sufficient.
