The Heretic
Should be playing D&D instead
I had a blast playing the ToEE crpg, but I eventually ran into an unkillable, 300 hp Type II Demon (Hezrou)
Oh, you wouldn't have been happy with the last gem, which I believe was in the fire node. It was guarded by a Balor (!!!), unless I'm remembering wrong. It was an interesting choice on their part, each of the gems was guarded by a different 'type' demon. I think they were vrock, hezrou, glabrezu, and balor.
Somehow I was able to defeat them, at least once. I remember holy weapons were involved, but when I tried again a few years later it wasn't happening. Thinking about it some more, I think I must have had a neutral good party with a lawful good wizard and a chaotic good fighter or ranger. I think I created lawful and holy weapons for the LG party members, and had the CG party member use that sweet bastard sword prince Thrommel gives you when you rescue him.
I wish I could tell you. I feel like I can't remember things anymore. My mom tells me I need to take Prevagin, whatever that is. All I recall is that it was unlike other crpgs in that it had a radial menu, but that's fine. Someone posted in a forum that the gog version isn't playable without mods, and I definitely didn't have mods (I think). I wanna try it again.
I think Chrono Trigger also had a radial menu. Yeah, that could be hard to get used to. It was a good game. It's been on Steam for a while now but I scoff at re-buying it at $20+.
